Well William, it is very simple, probably because you are more sensitive around your nipples. There are a couple reasons some people enjoy nipple play more than others and none are obsolete. In other words, it varies for different people and for many reasons. The first and foremost reason, as a man is that in contrast to women you have more nerve endings in your areolas or nipples. That makes you a bit more sensitive to touch and caress and the sensations you experience are an interpretation of pleasure and excitement. On the other hand, women may not respond as much to the physical aspect of nipple play as much as the mental implications involved causing her sexual arousal. Women are a bit different in physical characteristics around the nipple area. Women are less sensitive because of the structure of the breast, which serves the primary purpose of providing milk to an infant during breastfeeding. Therefore, the decreased sensitivity of the areola helps reduce the pain a hungry infant may cause suckling for his afternoon snack. They love combinations of pressure and flickering at the very tip of their areolas and many have said it brings them to the brink of orgasm. Hard-teethed nipple clamps, weights, all deviant methods of stimulation is accepted. On neither extreme lie the intermediates depending on the mood a combination of stimulation can be pleasure full but commonly starting soft with these nipples and ending a little rougher may bring about the best results.
